| Abstract:
A large number of F1 seedlings were raised by using the cultivars 'Allahabad Safeda', 'Red Flesh' and 'Apple colour' to study the inheritance of characters. The study showed that red colour of the pulp is dominant to white and that this character is governed monogenically. A linkage was found between flesh colour and seed size. It was also observed that the attractive pulp colour and high yields of 'Beaumont' can be transferred to other white sweet cultivars. | |
