Abstract:
An efficient procedure for adventitious shoot regeneration from carnation petals was developed as a prelude to the establishment of a transformation system in carnation.
Up to seven shoots per petal, in over 90% of the petals used, were obtained.
A protocol for the elimination of -glucuronidase inhibiting compound(s) from carnation leaf extracts is also described.
