Abstract:
In Bulgaria Cherry leaf roll virus (CLRV - WB) was isolated from trees (J. regia), grafted on J. regia with various foliage symptoms and identified by a biological and serological test (ELISA) in 1987. A year later its existence was also detected in samples of seeds, at different stages of development, of infected trees of the following varieties: P 1 - A (Peroushtenski 1-A); Ch 2–6 (Chernogorovo 2–6); Pr8–3 (Proslavski 8–3); P no. 3 (Peroushtenski no. 3) and B 1–26 (Bachkovski 1–26). The concentration of the virus was almost the same.
The absorption values were within the limits A = 0.49 – 0.21. Data show that besides the leaves with well defined symptoms, the seeds are also an appropriate source of an antigen when the virus is diagnosticated by ELISA. The virus can be successfully detected in buds and bark of one and two-year-old branches of infected trees, as well.
