Abstract:
The paper presents the levels of macronutrients (N, P, K, Ca and Mg) and micronutrients (Fe, Cu and Mn) in the bearing wood of eight walnut cultivars and selections, viz.
Dorka, Šeinovo, Ibar, Vujan, Ovcar, G-139, G-251 and G-286.
The levels of N varied from 0.47% (G-139) to 0.55% (Ibar); P from 0.08% (Šeinovo) to 0.12% (Ovcar): K from 0.15% (Vujan) to 0.25% (Ibar); Ca from 1.65% (G-139) to 2.32% (Dorka); Mg from 0.15% (G-139) to 0.20% (Dorka).
The levels of Fe ranged from 33.22 ug (Šeinovo) to 45.47 ug (Dorka), Cu from 5.17 ug (Šeinovo) to 7.06 ug (Dorka) and Mn from 168.94 ug (Ibar) to 303.72 ug (Šeinovo). High Mn levels can be accounted for by the fact that higher Mn levels occur in the organs of fruit trees grown on acid soils.
