AGRONOMIC EVALUATION OF PEACH AND NECTARIN CULTIVARS |

| Abstract:
In order to increase peach and nectarin production in Ecuador the INIAP Fruticulture Program has carried out since 1984 an agronomic evaluation in the Experimental Farm of Nagsiche (2 336 m above M.S.L., mean temp. 15.4°C). With 50 cultivars grafted on 'Conservero Amarillo', flowering, fruit set, vigour, production and fruit characteristics are evaluated. 5 plants represented an experimental unit. The highest production (kg/tree) in the third year were shown with peach cultivars 'Texas', 'Fla 2–4', 'Coral' and 'Florida Sum' and in nectarines '5–8 Pelon', 'Sunglo' and 'Sungold'. | |
