THE EFFECT OF MINERAL NUTRIENTS (N.P.K.) ON SAFFRON PRODUCTION

Authors:   S. Behzad, M. Razavi, M. Mahajeri
Abstract:
A 8-year study was carried out to compare the effects of different combination of N.P.K. and also cow manure on Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) production. The results showed that Nitrogen has the most effect on increasing the amount of flower yield. The addition of P or K to N fertilizer in some cases had little effect on flower yield but was not statistically significant. It was appeared that in soils that are poor in O.C the cow.M is the most important factor for promoting of saffron production.
