APPLICATION OF HOME MEDICINAL PLANTS IN COSMETICS |

| Abstract:
In the 70's our cosmetical profile was established on use of imported medical plant extracts. During the last 10 years a turning to the application of home medical herbs in a proportion more than 90 % has occured. This turning was permitted by fundamental changes of cultivation, processing, research and manufacturing circumstances. In the frame of a wide-ranging research cooperation, the development of several effective compositions, sometimes with synergetic effect has been succeeded. These compositions are wide-spreading applicated in our cosmetics. Progress won't be finishing, further sudden development is expected in the subject. The trend is strengthened by the probable large-scale development of the two new categories in Hungary. These are the paramedical and medical cosmetical products. Since the foundation of the Cosmetical Department of Gedeon Richter Ltd. (1970), its products have been based on ingredients of natural origin e.g. vitamins, animal and herbal extracts. At that time approx. 75 % of our products contained herbal extracts or several combinations of them. In the first period of our activity (in the 70's) altogether 12 herbal extracts or treated extracted materials were used in order to develope the FABULON product line.
