| Abstract:
In 1989, in Argentina it had been harvested 760,000 Tons tomatoes, 40% of the total was manufactured. Mendoza Province had 70 of the total production of the country. There has been advances in th yields and it is necessary to keep on improving them for reaching more competitive placing in the international market. In Mendoza ther are 32 enterprises that give work to 11,000 persons and they made us of technology from local firms mainly. This is possible because metal mechanical industry is in good development. Tomato by-products exportations has grown remarkably in the last three years, and it is noted a clear tendency for prefering tomat paste of 30/32 Brix in 55 galons drums. | |
