Abstract:
This paper presents the results of the tomato crop coefficient (kc) which can be utilized in the planning of a watering program.
The kc values obtained for the different stages of a tomato crop development were: (a) 0.64 for the vegetative growth, (b) 1.03 for the blooming, (c) 1.48 for fruit setting and (d) 0.73 for the final stages.
The leaf area index values 3.3, 3.7, 6.0, 5.7 and 5.1 were found for vegetative growth, blooming, fruit setting, fruit development and fruit ripening, respectively.
The accumulated maximum evapotranspiration (MEI) and the accumulated potencial evapotranspiration (PET) during this crop cycle were 377 and 411 mm, respectively.
