Abstract:
The study on 8 species of ornamental Acacia was carried out to define a protocol of micropropagation to be used industrially in order to program plant production.
Specific features of the woody species, such as ethylene production, phenols release, loss in juvenility, slow growth, were overcame by increasing iron-chelates or by utilising antioxidant agents or by modifications in salt composition.
Shoots proliferation can be obtained using BAP, IAA and GA3 0.5 ppm each; roots induction and development occourred in media containing 1 ppm of IAA. Altough greenhouse acclimatation in high U.R. conditions was a critical step the plants were acclimatized and then hardened and grown in the field.
