Abstract:
Plant tissue culture systems should be useful for the selection of NaCl tolerant plants, but it is necessary to characterize in vitro NaCl toxicity.
This research evaluates quince rootstocks (CTS 411, CTS 212, CTS 214, MA) response to NaCI at different stages of in vitro tissue cultureL: axillary shoots, callus culture and cell suspension.
Quince clones exhibit different sensitivities to salt concentration.
NaCl negatively affects explant survival, halves shoot chlorophyll content and reduced cell growth.
