Abstract:
Current season shoots of Prunus Laurocerasus cv.
Otto Luyken were placed on media containing Murashige and Skoog salts and organic compounds (MS), 6-benzyladenine (BA) and naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) to induce shoot proliferation.
In some cases for shoot elongation gibberellic acid (GA3) was added.
For root initiation the MS media were supplemented with NAA or indolebutyric acid (IBA). High proliferation rate of shoots was achieved using BA at 2.2 or 4.4 uM and NAA at 0.054 uM. GA3 stimulated shoot elongation and NAA was better than IBA as root promoting factor.
