The need to conserve quantity as well as quality of the crops has caused gardeners and engineers to cooperate in reducing the waste of workingtime, which more and more becomes unprofitable, by effective equipment and new methods.

In the open mobile machines with nozzles readily adjustable to the individual crops will best answer the requirements of plant protection from pests and diseases. This development is exemplified by drawing parallels of the expenditure of workingtime in the different stages of mechanization. Not only is the saving of time of importance, as it may be with methods of growing, but also the covering of the plants with the active materials and their application.
