Abstract:
A survey in ciku orchards (A. sapota) showed the presence of many insect pests particularly the Lepidopterous pests.
These pests were continuously present in the field.
The potential pest was Nephopteryx piratis (Lepidoptera : Pyralidae) causing serious damage to young fruits.
The pupa of the pyralid was parasitised by a chalcid, Brachymaria spp.
The life-cycle of the fruit borer was completed in 24.5 days at a temperature of 27°C±2°.
