Abstract:
In an experiment with different selections of prune, G.F. 8–1 and 2624 (Marianas), G.F. 31 (Mirobolán), G.F. 1380 (Doméstica) and "pollizo" prune (San Julián) and the two apricot cultivars of Búlida and Perla from Murcia (Spain), the rootstocks which produced the highest vigour, production and survival rate were the Marianas g.
F. 8–1 and 2624, although the former's graft joints broke in 25% of the cases with Búlida and 12.5% with Perla.
Mirobolán G.F. 31 and Reina Claudia G.F. 1380, follow in order of excellence, with the latter causing a mortality rate in the trees as high as 80%, 17 years after planting.
The "pollizo" prune grafted with Búlida produces a significantly higher productivity and growth than the other rootstocks.
Trees with this rootstoscks display a survival rate in 1989 second only to the 100% of Mariana 2624.
