PRODUCTION CONSTRAINTS OF MANDARIN IN WESTERN HILLS OF NEPAL

Abstract:
The major mandarin (Citrus reticulata cv. Blanco) growing pockets of western hill districts of Nepal were surveyed by a team of horticulturists and plant protectionist with the objective of identifying the major problems of mandarin cultivation. Greening disease, root rot, pink disease, fruit drop and management factors were found to be responsible for the mandarin decline. The report summarizes the recommendations and area of research for the improvement of the mandarin industry in Nepal.
