| Abstract:
Collection of Dimocarpus longan subspecies malesianus variety malesianus was made throughout the state of Sarawak during the period 1986 to 1989. Studies were carried out on the morphological characteristics of leaves, flowers and fruits of materials collected. Considerable variation was found in these characteristics. Isoenzyme patterns of peroxidase enzymic system using electrophoretic technique also showed a high degree of variation among collected materials. The basis for such a great genetic diversity and its practical value in future work are discussed. | |
