ISHS Acta Horticulturae 29: Symposium on Nutrition and Fertilization of Vegetables

LEAF ANALYSIS AS A MEAN OF DETERMINING THE NUTRIENT REQUIREMENTS OF GREENHOUSE TOMATOES

Authors:   J.R. Starck, J. Grudzinska-Kühn, J. Wojciechowski
Abstract:
Early tomatoes are often grown in Poland on benches where the amount of soil for plants is limited. In recent years sphagnum peat moss is commonly used as a substrate for greenhouse tomatoes. Growing tomatoes in sphagnum peat moss, Pudelski (1967) obtained the highest yields when N:P2O5:K2O ratio was 1:2:2.

The paper presents the data on the effects of different doses of macronutrients added as mixed MIS-2 fertilizer on tomato yields and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content in tomato leaves.
