Abstract:
Rejuvenation techniques were applied to 8-years-old tree through sectioning stems.
Epicormic and accessory shoots emerged from the sections within 10 days after sectioning in March.
The average multiplication rate and performance in vitro of the rejuvenated material was the same as in seedling derived material.
Two years after planting the clones to soil, a difference appeared between the two clones in elongation growth and number of branches per tree.
An explanation can be that only partial rejuvenation was induced which came to expression in the in vivo stage.
