| Abstract:
This paper describes the main traits of vitrification, the probable causes of the phenomenon and its consequences on in vitro woody plants propagation. The more effective proposals to avoid vitrification are presented. A new concept for plant propagation in liquid medium is proposed and discussed in relation with the possibility to decrease the in vitro propagation cost and to mechanize the procedure. | |
