SOMATIC EMBRYOGENESIS FROM LEAVES AND PETIOLES OF GRAPEVINE

Authors:   L. Martinelli, A. Scienza, E. Gianazza, P.L. Villa
Abstract:
A high number of plantlets were matured from somatic embryos from leaf dishes and petiole sections of Vitis rupestris. The growth regulator optimal combination was tested in order to set up the best protocol for embryogenesis induction and embryo maturation. Chilling was required for developing normal plantlets from single somatic embryoids. Secondary somatic embryogenesis or plantlet development could be alternatively obtained. Two-dimensional electrophoretic analysis of the total proteins were done in order to characterise the different developmental stages-from callus to plantlet. Protein patterns seemed to be related with the different developmental stages.
