Abstract:
In microcultures of Berberis thunbergii, axillary branching was better promoted with 2 mg 11 benzyladenine than 2 mg 1-1 isopentenyl adenosine or 1 mg 1-1 zeatine.
Neither diminishing the light intensity by 30 %, nor alternative forms of closure of the culture vessels, had any significant effect on shoot growth.
Rooting of microshoots was best on an auxin-free rooting medium after an induction with auxin.
