PLATYCERIUM BIFURCATUM - ADVENTITIOUS BUD AND ROOT FORMATION WITHOUT GROWTH REGULATORS IN VITRO

Authors:   M. CAMLOH, N. GOGALA
Abstract:
Methods were developed for successful in vitro propagation of the fern Platycerium bifurcatum (Cav.) C. Chr. Adventitious buds were induced on excised young leaves cultured on a modified MS medium. No exogenous growth regulators were necesary, BAP was even inhibitory for bud growth. Isolated buds were elongated and placed on different dilutions of medium for root induction. The main factor influencing root development was concentration of the medium. IBA treatment did not promote rooting.
