Authors:   M. Cortopassi-Laurino, F.R.N. Knoll, M.F. Ribeiro
Abstract:
The native stingless bee Plebeia (Friesella) schrottkyi is active throughout the year and very common in the region of São Paulo. The bees build their nest in any hollow and its flight activity occurs in the hottest hours of the day.

The periods during which flower visits were observed and the data available from bibliography are presented in a table, where 52 plant species belonging to 26 families are represented. The most abundant families were: Euphorbiaceae, Leguminosae, Compositae, Anarcadiaceae, Liliaceae and Myrtaceae. Whitish flowers predominated among the colours of flowers visited by these bees, followed by yellow flowers.
