Abstract:
Many data have been collected regarding the toxicity of pesticides to honeybees, especially with the most precise method of oral application.
For the evaluation of pesticide impact on other beneficial pollinating insects the organophosphates (acephate, dimethoate) and the carbamate (methomyl) were tested with 2 bumblebee species (Bombus terrestris, Bombus lapidarius) and the hoverfly Episyrphus balteatus.
Differences were evident between the pesticide types and the mode of application by acute or chronic sublethal poisoning.
