ATTRACTION OF OPIUS CONCOLOR TO MONOCHROMATIC LIGHT

Authors:   J. Jacas, E. Viñuela, E. Sánchez
Abstract:
The attraction of Opius concolor Szepl. (Hymenoptera: Braconcidae) adults to monochromatic light has been investigated. Eleven different wavelengths, from 410 to 806 nm, were simultaneously tested by use of monochromatic interferencial filters, whose radiance was fitted at 52.43 w.Sr-1.m-2, in order to equal the intensity of light passing through them. It was found that orange light, 610 nm, was the most preferred, followed by bluish-green, 494 nm, and red, 678 nm.
