ISHS Acta Horticulturae 286: International Symposium on Olive Growing

BEHAVIOUR OF SOME OLIVE VARIETIES IRRIGATED WITH BRACKISH WATER AND GROWN INTENSIVELY IN THE CENTRAL PART OF TUNISIA

Author:   E. Bouaziz
Abstract:
The behaviour of thirteen local and introduced varieties of table and oil olive trees has been tested when submitted to an intensive regime and irrigated with brackish waters (4 g/l). The results achieved during these last nine years (1980–1988) show that irrigation allowed conducting olive a quick fruit setting and increasing production.
