Abstract:
GA3 injections strongly inhibited flowering when done in July and November.
Fruit removal promoted flowering when done in May and June, but return bloom was similar to controls when done in July, September of February.
Results showed increases in RNA content in July and August and in bud size in August of the non-bearing as compared to bearing trees.
Results indicate that changes related to floral induction occur by July, prior to the time previously suggested.
