Abstract:
The use of grape-stalks+urban sludge as partial substitute of peat was evaluated on container-grow ‘Leccino’ olive.
During an 180-day culture period the plants were supplied, with nutrient solutions of increasing ionic strength.
Olive growth increased following the introduction of the waste material in the artificial substrate.
High nutrient availability and good quality of the organic component suggests its use for olive pot growth.
