| Abstract:
From all earthworm species, Lumbricus terrestris is best adapted to orchard conditions, because of its special way of living. Its benefical effects do not only consist in improving soil fertility but also in destroying effectively the plant diseases and pests surviving on the tree litter on the soil. Different methods taken by fruit growers can either promote or harm earthworm populations. | |
