INFLUENCE OF ROOTSTOCKS ON THE FRUIT QUALITY OF THREE CLONES OF GREENGAGE

Abstract:
Three plum rootstocks : P.Marianna GF 8-1, P.insititia St.Julien GF 655-2, and the hybrid Belsiana x (P.cerasifera x P.Persica) denommed Ferciana ISHTARA^R, induce a difference in fruit size and refractometric index for the three clones of Greengage P1119, P1330 and P982.

ISHTARA^R appears as giving the best compromise between yield and quality.

Figure 1 : Linear regressions

The regression size of fruit/yield (figure 1) show :

a high effect of ISHTARA^R on size of fruit;
for this same rootstock, the size of fruit is less dependant to the yield than for the other rootstocks.
