THE POTENTIAL USE OF RESTRICTION FRAGMENT LENGTH POLYMORPHISM IN RUBUS BREEDING

Authors:   R. Waugh, M. van de Van, S. Millam, R. Brennan, W. Powell
Abstract:
We have initiated experiments to explore the potential of Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphisms (RFLPs) in Rubus breeding and genetics. Twenty Rubus genotypes were examined for RFLPs in both the chloroplast and nuclear genomes. Considerable polymorphism was detected and cladistic analysis has been used to examine and quantify species relationships.
