Abstract:
Tests were carried out on the possible use of ion leakage measured as increase in conductance after challenge with fusaric acid, as a method for early screening of tomato and carnation genotypes resistant, respectively, to Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici and Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. dianthi. Encouraging data were obtained on resistant and susceptible cultivars of both tomato and carnation and on a segregating progeny of a cross between a resistant 'Duca' and a susceptible 'Sandra' carnation cultivar.
