Abstract:
Protoplasts were isolated from leaves, stems and callus tissues of Ageratum houstonianum; leaves, ray florets and callus of Calendula officinalis and Tithonia rotundifolia. Although callus was regenerated in most cases, plant regeneration has not yet been achieved from these protoplast systems.
Plant regeneration from callus protoplasts was obtained however, for Rudbeckia purpurea and, via rhizogenesis, for R. laciniata.
