ISHS Acta Horticulturae 280: I International Symposium on In Vitro Culture and Horticultural Breeding

IMPROVEMENT OF SOMATIC EMBRYOGENESIS OF THE CHERRY DWARF ROOTSTOCK INMIL/GM9 BY THE USE OF DIFFERENT CARBON SOURCES

Author:   Ph. Druart
Abstract:
Secondary embryogenesis in cherry rootstock GM9 (P. incisa x P. serrula) occurred in shaken liquid medium without any hormones. Carbon sources and concentrations markedly influenced the growth of the embryogenic calli and the homogenous development of isolated somatic embryos. Sucrose, maltose, glucose, fructose, sorbitol, and mannitol were compared. Maltose was the best carbon source for somatic embryogenesis process.
