Abstract:
Highland agricultural extension of DOAE (Department of Agricultural Extension) aims to develop and improve the economic and living standards of the hill tribes in the north by using cash crops to replace opium cultivation and preserve the forest.
Extension in highlands is involves many projects such as the Highland Agricultural Extension Centre Project, the Volunteer Hill Tribe Farmer's Project and other projects supported by foreign countries.
The most emphasis in Highland Agricultural Extension is on temperate fruit promotion.
These temperate fruits are suited to the climate of the highland area.
Problems in development and promotion are lack of experts who have experience and knowledge in this field.
The community and life of the hill tribes have been improved considerably in recent years and the extension of DOAE is continuing on.
