Abstract:
Paclobutrazol at 2 000 mgl-1 applied either to the upper part of a shoot or to the whole of a shoot of fruit-bearing Bramley's Seedling trees on MM106 diverted more assimilates from upper shoots to the developing fruits and to other sinks in the lower parts of plant organs, and the effect was greatest when it was applied to the upper part of the shoot.
It did not affect the percentage of the total radioactivity in the upper leaves of either the untreated shoots or when the whole shoot was treated.
