ISHS Acta Horticulturae 277: III International Symposium on Processing Tomatoes

SUITABILITY OF TOMATO CULTIVARS FOR PROCESSING IN JUICE

Author:   M. Cerne
Abstract:
Early tomato hybrids yielded in the first six days of harvesting from 1.3 to 1.9 kg/m2, with the average weight of one fruit from 140 g (Mi 10 F1) to 92 g (Rapid F1). From the late picking the evaluation for processing in juice was made. Hybrids Iris F1 and Rapid F1 had better organoleptical properties than Mi 13 F1. In the fruits of Rapid F1 total acids were higher than in other hybrids. Carmelo F1 was more productive than the Yugoslav cultivar Narvik SPF. The cultivar Napoli had the lowest yield. Dry matter content of them was from 3 to 5 percentage.
