SCURF ("CASPA"): A DISEASE OF PRICKLY PEAR

Abstract:
Scurf ("Caspa") is an abnormality inducing phellogen between the epidermal and hypodermal cells in the cladodes and, to a lesser extent, in the fruit of prickly pear.

This work summarizes research to determine possible causal agents. Fungal, bacterial and other potential causal agents have been examined without success as yet.
