ISHS Acta Horticulturae 274: International Symposium on Diagnosis of Nutritional Status of Deciduous Fruit Orchards

RELATION BETWEEN THE LEAF NUTRIENT BALANCE AND THE GROWTH AND PRODUCTIVITY OF PEACH TREES

Authors:   G.P. Stoilov, I.D. Jovchev, V.M. Stefanova
Abstract:
Studying the importance of nutrient balance for the physiological status, growth and productivity of plants is a means if improving the evaluation of leaf analysis results.

Pot experiments with peach trees proved a higher corelation between values of leaf N/P ratio and the growth, productivity and fruit size of plants. Regression analysis of data, based on field experiments of many years, carried out by increasing N, P and K fertilization rates, showed a functional relationship between the N/K ratio in the leaves and the yield rate, which can be expressed by a hyperbolic equation.
