Abstract:
- The experiments showed that the nutrient status of asparagus can only be evaluated based on analysis of the nutrient contents of the roots, but not an analysis of above-ground plant parts.
- There ist no correlation between the nutrient content in the soil-layer 0–30 cm (mg/100 g soil) and the nutrient concentration of the roots (in percent of dry matter), whereas there is a significant correlation for P, K, Ca and Mg in the soil-layer 30–60 cm.
- The ratios and interrelations of nutrients in the roots provide information regarding soil-nutrient contents and fertilization practises.
