Abstract:
Evaluating of a large number of new varieties is a special problem in asparagus breeding because of the longevity and the slow youth development of this genus.
Correlation studies between the yield datas of the normal cutting season and the yield related to brush vigor of stalks in autumn could help to substitute the costly and long harvest records.
Recommendations for future asparagus evaluations are made.
