GROWTH AND YIELD POTENTIALITY OF ASPARAGUS IN THE TROPICS OF SOUTH INDIA

Abstract:
Crop diversification is wel come feature (Duke and Terrell, 1974) Asparague was introduced in South Indian tropics of Bangalore and Dharwad. Seed propagated asparagus grew unintereptedly through the year into a bush producing stems, flowers and seed. Each clump of an year old plant speared out 14–27 spears weighing about 70–301 g. Bangalore was at advantage than Dharwad.
