TECHNICAL ELEMENTS NEEDED TO GENERATE PACKAGING SYSTEMS FOR DISTRIBUTION OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES IN MEXICO

Abstract:
The quality of fruits and vegetables and the packaging needs are normalized in most countries while in Mexico they are non-existent. The data generated from this study can be used to create the standardization for packaging Fruits and Vegetables.

In the present work 14 packaging systems are suggested as a mean of commercialization for 35 products. The proposal has as a starting point technical considerations of international use and domestic application. Each one of the systems is described through the matrix for the different products and its application. In the research carried out, the levels used were: harvest, distribution, consumer and normalized prepackage extracted from the ISO/DIS TC 34 Guide to the Prepackaging of Fruits and Vegetables.
