INITIATION OF STRAWBERRY RUNNER FORMATION IN VITRO |

| Abstract:
Sterile shoots of strawberry cultivars Gorella and Hakras Romata were cultured on Boxus /1974/ proliferating medium supplemented with AgNO3 and/or gibberellic acid. Runners were initiated from the cultures of Hakras Romata on media containing silver nitrate. Gibberellic acid increased the efficiency of AgNO3 sinergistically. Cultivar Gorella developed runners in vitro on media containing both AgNO3 and gibberellic acid. Gibberellic acid alone stimulated only the elongation of shoots in both varieties. The finding seems significant also from the point of view of commercial strawberry propagation. | |
