ISHS Acta Horticulturae 265: International Strawberry Symposium

REVIEW ON STRAWBERRY MASS PROPAGATION

Author:   P. BOXUS
Abstract:
The developments of the last 10 years of in vitro strawberry culture are commented on. Meristem tip culture gives disease-free mother plants which can be later propagated in the presence of BAP (O.3–1.0 mg/1). Micropropagated strawberry plants give more runners. The first and the second progeny of these plants give good production, if they are not too subcultured (less than 10–12 subcultures). No mutation was observed in the field, but TC strawberry plants are more sensitive to the "June yellows" disorder.
