CULTIVAR-RACE INTERACTIONS OF THE STRAWBERRY-PHYTOPHTHORA FRAGARIAE SYSTEM WITH REGARD TO A GENE-FOR-GENE MODEL. |

| Abstract:
It was recently shown that the interactions between the American races A1 to A6, A10 and a British isolate of Phytophthora fragariae on the one hand and the differentials Aberdeen, Blakemore, Climax, Del Norte, Md 683, Perle de Prague, Stelemaster and Yaquina A on the other hand can be described by a gene-for-gene model with five resistance and virulence genes. In this poster the completeness of the model is discussed with regard to the number of resistance and virulence genes involved by investigating whether interactions related to A1 to A6 fit to the model. It appears that results of authors can be inconsistent when testing the same cultivar-race combinations. This hampers the verification of the model. | |
