| Abstract:
Regarded by farmers as the most remunerative, the strawberry occupies more and more greenhouses in the gouvernorate of Nabeul. Since geothermal energy is not available, the double tunnel was chosen in an experiment done in the "Station d'Appui de Korba" to improve the strawberry precocity in greenhouses. The "tunnel nantais" placed on the 20th of December 1986 in a frigorific seedling plantation set up 3 months earlier, enabled us to gain from 1.3 to 2.6°C in the minimum temperature average by comparison with normal greenhouses. This increase in temperature entailed a 2 T/ha increase of precocious yield and a 4 T/ha increase of total yield. A simple economic calculation shows that this technique of thermic balance improvement ensured an additional gain of 560 DT per each 500m2 house. | |
