ISHS Acta Horticulturae 263: International Symposium on Simple Ventilation and Heating Methods for Greenhouses in Mild Winter Climates

APERCU SUR LES SYSTEMES DE CHAUFFAGE CONVENTIONELLES ET LES SYSTEMES DE CONSERVATION D'ENERGIE SOUS ABRI-SERRE

Author:   G. Boesman
Abstract:
In order to obtain better greenhouse climate both, reduction of energy losses and heating can be used.

Reduction of energy losses can be obtained by selected and protected implantation of insulated greenhouses. The insulation can be obtained by the choice of selected covering materials with a reducing effect on energy losses, by use of adapted thermal screens in the roof and by use of double protection or double layer covering material. The use of these systems is discussed.

Heating of greenhouses can be realised by conventional systems (radiative, convective or conductive and mixed heating systems) in which people try to obtain better efficiency (condensation of vapours). Some more alternative heating systems are now on the market such as heat pump, wind energy heating, roof heating, solar heating and geothermal heating. A short overview of all these systems is given. Production of energy from biomass is also discussed, while ground storage of energy seems to be one of the most interesting systems for the future.
