| Abstract:
Use of geothermal energy at low temperature for greenhouse heating appears to be an attractive resource in commercial greenhouses to reduce conventional heating costs which strongly affect the greenhouse industry. A greenhouse complex of eight plastic-houses, 25x8 m, has been constructed in order to develop adapted technology and working equipment for geothermally heated greenhouses in Italy. The paper describes the lay-out of the pilot-plant and the different techniques of geothermal heating which have been taken into consideration for greenhouse vegetables. Last, energetical, microclimatic, agronomical and economical data are also reported. | |
